North American Van Lines Adds New Full Service Agent to Southern California Region

FORT WAYNE, IN—June 30, 2008— North American Van Lines, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of SIRVA Inc., announced the addition of Oakley Relocation as a new full-service agent. Leveraging the talent, expertise and history of one of the oldest and most respected van line agents in the Southern California area—Atlas Transfer & Storage, an Allied Van Lines agent—Oakley Relocation provides a comprehensive array of domestic and international moving services for residential and commercial customers, as well as long- and short-term storage and distribution solutions. Adding Oakley Relocation as an agent will create more relocation and storage options for businesses and households throughout the region.

“Further extending the North American brand into the Southern California market is a long-term strategic goal for us, and we could not be happier about the execution behind this,” said Dan Robertson, vice president and general manager of North American Van Lines. “The Oakley family has built a phenomenal organization on the West Coast with their Allied agent, and we look forward to repeating this growth and success under the North American name.”

For the past 40 years, Tom and Linda Oakley, a husband-and-wife team, have owned Atlas Transfer & Storage, an Allied Van Lines agent since 1947. A third-generation family business, the ownership team also includes their son Travis Oakley. Atlas today boasts more than 50 employees and 35 moving trucks, and is widely regarded as a model business establishment in the van line industry in terms of service quality and customer retention.

Extending their immense success with the Allied brand to the North American Van Lines side, Linda—along with her daughter Sara—recently established Oakley Relocation. Optimally positioned to achieve maximum growth with minimal ramp-up time, this woman-owned, San Diego based moving company will leverage the same talent, expertise and capital resources of its sister company, Atlas Transfer & Storage.

“Having the prestigious North American and Allied brands in the same market under the same successful ownership team provides consumers, businesses, the military and other SIRVA van line agents—local, national and/or international—with a one-stop solution for all relocation and storage needs,” said Linda.

Deeply committed to the San Diego community, both Oakley Relocation and Atlas actively support the local San Diego Historical Society, Veterans of Foreign Wars, “Special Delivery—Meals for People Living with AIDS,” Muscular Dystrophy Association chapters, and the American Cancer Society. The Oakley family has also been actively involved in the Family Business Institute at the University of San Diego for the past 12 years.
