According to the 2011 Canadian Census, there were more than 356,000 residents living in Oshawa, which had a percentage growth rate of 7.7 percent between 2006 and 2011, so many people are looking to call Oshawa home. Activities and Attractions in Oshawa
Oshawa is a city full of history, so it should come as no surprise that there are several museums and sites throughout the area to enjoy. Some of these include the Canadian Automotive Museum, a space that shows the evolution of a working motor to the automobiles we see on the roads today.
Another related site to the automotive industry in Oshawa is the Parkwood National Historic Site. As the home of Robert Samuel McLaughlin, a powerhouse in Canadian auto industry in terms of innovation and president of General Motors of Canada, and his family during the 20th century, this historic home was crafted with some of the best architects of the time. Designed in the Beaux-Arts style with Art Deco flourishes, the interiors as well as the gardens are as equally impressive as the exterior and the entire estate is well-worth a visit. If you are a fan of art, you can also tour the collections at the Robert McLaughlin Gallery, the art house of Oshawa, which features more than 4,000 works.
