Pembroke, Ontario Moving Companies
North American Van Lines: The Pembroke Moving Company That Makes for an A+ Move All the Way Around
Situated near something of a meeting point between the two flowing bodies of the Ottawa and Muskrat Rivers, the city of Pembroke is home to a combined force of over 24,000 residents who reside a considerably distance away from the Ottawa metropolitan region. The city of Pembroke serves as county seat and administrative headquarters for its surrounding Renfrew County, having come about through a historical role as an early county seat and police village for the region. Many of the historical structures and districts remain intact, although it is worth nothing that a major fire during the early 20thcentury did away with much of the historic downtown’s early structures. However, the historic structures of early Pembroke are far from a small factor when it comes to the city’s identity. A number of the buildings that date back as far as the 1800s can still be toured and visited throughout the week, including the city’s original jail and courthouse, early hospitals, a synagogue and more. Modern Pembroke’s economy differs significantly from this history and includes a wide variety of industries that benefit from the city’s role in existing as the largest commercial centre in the region between the major metropolitan centres of Ottawa and North Bay. The city also prominently features attractions that revolve around its train station, historic blacksmith shop, woodworking shops, and more. Many events take place throughout the year at the Pembroke Festival Hall Center of the Arts. Pembroke has traditionally served as home to significant quantities of hydro-electric power, giving rise to the Pembroke Hydro Museum, which showcases the history of the power source throughout the town’s development.
